Dear Diary,

I picked that whole "take heed" thing up from Jimmy. Any clue what that means? I just like to sound cool in front of him so he'll still like me. That's why I pretend like I'm hard core and like to flirt and stuff. In truth, I just want to help people and be a good friend. It's just the way I am. That's why I cannot hide from the insanity caused by credit card in this day and age. It's just a shame that something as beneficial as a credit card can cause so much pain for so many consumers each year. What could be a convenient source of exchanging money for goods and services has become the bane of so many people's existence**.

**- Again, I have no idea what this means. I think it means that credit card debts suck. From the context in which people say that, I think that's the essential bottom-line gist. Word up.

Cut up your credit card!

Hey, I know it's drastic, but you sure as hell can't rack up more credit card debt when the thing is chopped into two or four or even eight bits. No one will be able to swipe the bar code in that sense. Sometimes you have to go to drastic measures in order to cut down on the credit card abuse. If you think you have the willpower to simply reduce spending and eliminate credit card bills on your own, then more power to you. But a lot of people near and dear to me - even my own parents - have not shown such restraint. They have fallen victim to the traps set by credit card companies and have taken a very long time to bounce back.
